WNAM REPORT: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) held the 79th meeting of its Board of Advance Studies and Research (BASR) yesterday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood. During the meeting, a total of 32 PhD research synopses and 82 MS/MPhil research topics were presented for approval.
On the first day of the two-day meeting, 15 PhD synopses and 13 MS/MPhil research topics from the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies and 1PhD synopses and 3 MS/MPhil research topics were presented and reviewed. The participants appreciated the quality, academic depth and The meeting was attended by university Deans, Senior Professors, Faculty Members and distinguished external experts from various universities across the country. The agenda of the meeting was presented by the Director BASR, Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal Lillah.
Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood emphasized that scholars should keep innovation, national socio-economic development and international research standards in view in their research so that the positive impacts of research can be effectively transferred to society. He said that quality research and timely completion play a key role in further strengthening the standard of higher education.
On the second day of the meeting, 2 PhD and 39 MS/MPhil research topics from the Faculty of Education and 14 PhD and 27 MS/MPhil research topics from the Faculty of Social Sciences will be presented for approval.
