WNAM REPORT: Egyptian Prime Minister Madbouly, in his speech at the 81st United Nations General Assembly, drew attention to his country’s water security and the Palestinian issue.
Medbuli emphasized that the Nile River, beyond being an economic resource, has been a lifeline linked to the existence and development of Egyptian society throughout history, and stated that water security is an existential issue for his country that cannot be compromised.
Medbuli stated that the Palestinian issue continues to be the most striking evidence of imbalance in the global system, and that the suffering, oppression, and violations experienced and continued by the Palestinian people should not become a commonplace reality or a prolonged crisis managed from one round to the next.
Prime Minister Madbouly stated, “Egypt categorically rejects the forced displacement of the Palestinian people living in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank. Peace cannot be built on uprooting a people from their land.”
Medbuli emphasized that the ceasefire in Gaza must be implemented in its entirety and the Israeli army must withdraw from the region, demanding an end to Israel’s ongoing violations in Gaza and the removal of obstacles to the entry of humanitarian aid.
