High Commissioner Assures Full Support for 2nd ‘Made in Pakistan’ Exhibition in Colombo

WNAM REPORT: Khurshid Barlas, Chairman of the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry (PAII), met with Maj Gen (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, in Colombo. During the meeting, Founder Chairman Khurshid Barlas briefed the High Commissioner on domestic and international exhibitions organized by the association, including recent successful events in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the UK, Bahrain, and Bangladesh. Khurshid Barlas announced that the ‘2nd Made in Pakistan Exhibition & Business Investment Conference’ will take place from December 23 to 27, 2026, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. A wide array of Pakistani industries will participate in the exhibition, including: * Textile, Fashion & Fabrics * Food Products, Marble & Glassware * Electrical Appliances, Kitchenware/Crockery & Household Goods * Footwear, Furniture & Fixtures * Gems & Jewelry * Sports Goods & Handicrafts * Tourism & Hospitality * Machinery, Equipment, Paints & HVACR He added that the event will open new trade avenues between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, playing a crucial role in profiling Pakistani goods globally. High Commissioner Maj Gen (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer commended Khurshid Barlas’s economic initiatives and assured full diplomatic and administrative backing for the event. “The High Commission of Pakistan will extend complete support to ensure the success of this exhibition, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the organizers. Your efforts to boost the national economy are truly commendable,” Maj Gen (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer stated. Discussing Sri Lanka’s economic climate, the High Commissioner noted that the investment environment in Sri Lanka is becoming increasingly attractive due to its liberal foreign investment regime, favorable government policies, strategic location, and educated workforce, making it a promising investment destination in South Asia. He emphasized identifying key product segments where Sri Lanka could prioritize Pakistani imports over other markets. At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman Khurshid Barlas presented an official invitation for the 2nd Made in Pakistan Exhibition to High Commissioner Maj Gen (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer.
