WNAM REPORT: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized the National Health Summit 2024-Dental Hygiene at Chamber House.
Speaking at the National Health Summit at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rawalpindi, RCCI President Saqib Rafiq said that the purpose of the conference was to bring awareness about oral hygiene, especially dental hygiene and safety, so as to avoid expensive treatment.
Saqib Rafiq said that it is an honor for the Rawalpindi Chamber that the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi was the Chief Guest of the inaugural session of the event. The President of Pakistan was the first Head of State to visit the Rawalpindi Chamber and encouraged the business community for their involvement in the various initiatives taken for health facilities.
For the development of any country, health and education are important sectors, by developing which the country can be economically stable; Rawalpindi Chamber is taking all steps and efforts for the development of these two sectors.
Pakistan has a weak economy where the common man does not have access to the expensive treatment of dental cancer and related diseases.
He said almost 90 per cent of people could not afford the expensive treatment of dentistry, adding the dental related diseases could be avoided with just due care and prevention.
He said the chamber was making all possible measures to extend better health facilities in every nook and cranny of the Rawalpindi division, under which it had arranged mobile dental units for diagnosing chronic disease caused by bad oral hygiene.
Besides, it was carrying out water testing and data collection in 74 union councils of the Rawalpindi division, he added.
Moreover, panelists from leading laboratories and hospitals participated in panel discussions and informed the audience about the challenges facing the healthcare system and dental hygiene. Medical students from different universities also participated in the event. Along with the panel discussion, there was also a dental mobile unit and free oral cancer screening facility for the members and visitors on the occasion of the summit.
Senior Vice President Muhammad Hamza Sarosh, Vice President Faisal Shahzad, Chairman Standing Committee for Healthcare Dr. Shimail Daud, former presidents, executive committee members, honorable members and women members of RCCI were also present on this occasion.
