ISLAMABAD (WNAM): China has released a plan to further change the communal forest tenure system in order to enhance farmers’ incomes and promote green growth.
According to the plan, which was jointly issued by the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, the country aims to form a collective forest tenure system with clear ownership, unified responsibilities and rights, strict protection, orderly circulation and effective supervision by 2025.
On this basis, a variety of measures will be implemented, including expanding the forestry industry’s appropriate-scale operation, promoting more scientific and efficient management of forest resources, and diversifying channels for increasing the value of forest tenure in order to continuously improve the ecological quality of forests and increase farmers’ incomes.
According to the plan, projects will be launched to accurately improve forest quality and promote efficient forest management methods, while green industries such as ecological tourism, forest health care, and environment education will be established to conserve forest resources and ecology.
It also encourages initiatives to investigate and develop mechanisms for recognizing the value of ecological products, as well as encouraging financial institutions to provide credit support for the forestry industry.
