There is no gainsaying the fact that Washington is greatly perturbed over the grown and growing influence of Beijing through execution of Mammoth CPEC in Pakistan and other countries of the world. The close ties between Islamabad and Beijing is an eye sore of the US and it is the last thing it wants to see.
It was apprehended that America will, before long, try to hit Chinese engaged in the execution of developmental work in Pakistan in its bid to scare away the Chinese engineer besides creating misunderstandings between China and Pakistan.
Th attack on Chinese in Shangla the other day is certainly the handiwork of elements of anti Pak-China ties. There is a greater need to provide foolproof security cover to all the Chinese working in various fields of life in Pakistan.
The PM has rightly observed that this suicide attack wasn’t an attack on China; on the contrary it was an attack on Pakistan which will go the whole hog in reaching out to the hidden hands behind it and make an example of its masterminds soon.
Needless to add that tighter border control on the Durand Line is also need of the hour. The nation wants to know what follow up action was taken by the concerned authorities on the bold decision of former interior minister Sarfaraz Bugti that henceforth no Afghani will be allowed to enter Pakistan without a visa?
As far as suicide attacks are concerned they can only be checkmated in the stage of their planning and it is here that work of intelligence agencies assume greater significance.
