(WNAM Monitoring): The state will compensate labor migrants for some expenses associated with working abroad, the press service of the head of state reports.

Over the past two years, the External Labor Migration Agency has organized the sending of 70 thousand people to work in developed countries. The agency under the Ministry of Employment is being transformed into a governing body in the form of a state institution. The director of the agency will simultaneously be the Deputy Minister of Employment and the head of the Fund for Support of Migrant Workers.

It is planned to introduce the position of labor migration attaché in embassies and consulates in the UK, Germany, Poland, Hungary, and Japan, and in Saudi Arabia – a representative of the agency.

24-hour call centers will be organized in embassies and ministries to promptly resolve problems of Uzbek citizens abroad.

Assistants to the governor and youth leaders will identify those willing to work abroad and enter their data into the “Online Mahalla” platform. After this, candidates will be invited to competitions with foreign employers.

A center for teaching foreign languages and targeted preparation for work will be opened at the Agency for External Labor Migration.

Labor migrants are compensated for part of the costs of obtaining a work visa, tickets, assessment of foreign language knowledge and professional qualifications. Upon receipt of an international language certificate, 50% of training costs will be reimbursed.

Based on the “Saykhunabad experience”, citizens returning from labor migration will be provided with preferential loans. Medical institutions will conduct free medical examinations for former migrants and members of their families. “Inson” centers will provide social assistance to children whose parents work abroad.

When hiring a former migrant worker, employers will be paid a monthly subsidy of 500 thousand soums for each employee they employ from the Employment Support Fund.

In 2024, 100 billion soums will be allocated for these events from all sources.
