The concerned government departments had better take seriously the forecast of weather pundits that this summer is going to be very hot and long, that glaciers will melt causing floods which are going to play havoc with lives and property of the population living in the low lying areas.
They had better take time by the forelock and keeping in view their past experience take all the precautionary steps necessary to minimize the damage to public property as much as possible beside saving human lives on account of floods likely to be caused by melting of glaciers.
It is rightly said there is no last word in politics. An ample proof of this age old adage was provided by assemblage of politicians of different hue and stock at the residence of Maulana Fazal Rehman in Islamabad on last Wednesday over dinner. Many of them who are today shaking hands with the Maulana include those who used to give a dressing down to the Maulana in open public meetings not long ago. The politicians who partook dinner at the residence of Maulana have different grind to axe.
