Many high profile corruption cases fail in the courts of law only because of the extremely poor performance of the Prosecution branch of the department on whose behalf they are registered against the accused.
The standard of prosecution leaves much to be desired it cannot stand the hard work of the highly paid defence lawyers. More often than not, the courts have no option but to give a clean bill of health to the alleged accused by invoking the provision of the benefit of the doubt in their favour and release them.
Small wonder many corrupt persons have been getting away lightly with the criminal cases in which they have been accused of embezzling billions of rupees. Such state of affairs ,if on the one hand defeats the very purpose of law, on the other, provides an opportunity to the filthy rich to claim that they are innocent and that fake cases have been registered against them on political grounds.
