LIAONING: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Tuesday had a working session with the Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL) at the ongoing World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the Champions in Liaoning Province, China.
The session was attended by Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the WEF, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, ministers, senior leaders of corporations and WEF global pioneers.
In his remarks, PM Chính observed that in the context of increasing geopolitical and geo-economic divisions, conflicts and disruptions in supply chains, along with the growing impact of natural disasters, pandemics, climate change and population aging, international cooperation along with multilateralism, as well as the role of the business community, are more critical than ever for achieving inclusive, sustainable and comprehensive growth.
The Prime Minister shared lessons from Việt Nam’s macroeconomic management experience, putting the spotlight on Việt Nam which remains a bright spot in the global economy with positive growth momentum and is ranked among the highest growth rates in the region.
To foster cooperation towards economic growth, he emphasised five priority solutions. These include developing and reforming the global economic governance system to be more efficient, transparent, and inclusive; establishing a framework for macroeconomic policy coordination; promoting trade and investment liberalisation; enhancing cooperation to mobilise development resources and focusing on strongly promoting new growth drivers.
