MOSCOW( WNAM MONITORING): Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday said preparations for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia have “entered the final stage.”
Speaking at a news conference in Moscow, Peskov said the press services of the two leaders will simultaneously publish the relevant announcements later.
“We will announce as agreed with our Indian friends this visit officially a little later, I can only confirm to you once again that the visit is in the final stage of preparation,” he said.
The official described the visit as “important,” noting that Vladimir Putin and Modi will discuss global and regional security, trade and “all other topic on the agenda.”
The two nations have “mutual desire to develop relations,” he added.
“Given the very trusting nature of the relations between President Putin and the Prime Minister Modi, we can expect that there will be an exchange of views on all the issues on the agenda, and there are many of them,” he stressed.
Russian media earlier said the Indian prime minister could visit Moscow on July 8-9.
Turning to remarks of US presidential nominee Donald Trump, who pledged to quickly resolve the Ukrainian crisis in case of coming to power, Peskov said: “Being unaware what he was talking about, we cannot comment on it. This is not the first statement by Trump in this regard; he said something like this earlier as well.”
