RAWALPINDI ( WNAM REPORT): Trade leaders have reiterated their commitment and strong resolve in a consultative meeting at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to take a united, joint and concerted action against the anti-business measures introduced in the budget 2024. They also expressed serious apprehensions and dismay to the additional taxes imposed on the existing taxpayers in the fiscal budget 2024. Increase in sales tax rate, change and increase in income tax slab, duty hike and exorbitant electricity bills have made it difficult to do business. They warned that businesses will come to a complete standstill.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chamber President Saqib Rafiq and Group Leader Sohail Altaf. In the meeting, President of All Pakistan Anjuman Tajran Ajmal Baloch, President of Markazi Tanzeem e Tajran Pakistan Kashif Chaudhry, President of Anjuman Tajran of Punjab and Rawalpindi Shahid Ghafoor Pracha, President of Anjuman Tajran Cantt., Sheikh Hafeez, Arshad Awan, Sheikh Asif Idris, Raja Jawad and Zafar Qadri was also present. President Saqib Rafiq said that important decisions have been taken in the meeting to decide the future course of action.
Trade leaders Ajmal Baloch and Kashif Chaudhry, while emphasizing on moving forward together and with consensus, said that the contact with all trade unions, associations and chambers across Pakistan has been started to adopt a common plan of action. A joint action plan will be finalized after consultations in the next few days. All participants agreed to speed up the nationwide consultation process with all stakeholders and reiterated that all decisions will be made by consensus.
