WNAM REPORT: Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with Acting Special Coordinator for the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment of the United States Helaina Matza, UzA reports.
The parties discussed issues of attracting private financing to projects to develop transport infrastructure, geology, and digitalization.
The initiative was launched by the United States at the G7 summit in June 2022, the Ministry notes. The U.S. will allocate up to $200 billion through grants, federal funding, and attracting private sector investment over five years, and the G7 countries will allocate up to $600 billion. The World Bank and private investment firms are involved in implementing the initiative.
The sides also exchanged views on a wide range of relevant issues of bilateral cooperation.
They confirmed a firm commitment to further deepening and expanding cooperation in all discussed areas following the meeting.
