WNAM MONITORING: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his victory in the presidential elections and wished him great success in his responsible government position.
Issues of further developing relations between Uzbekistan and Iran and enhancing practical interaction in trade, investment, and transport were discussed.
It was noted with satisfaction that the volume of trade turnover and cargo transportation, the number of joint projects and enterprises, and the frequency of flights have been growing in recent years.
Particular attention was paid to implementing previously reached agreements at the highest level. The importance of promoting cooperation projects in the energy, chemical, agriculture, food, and other industries was noted.
Current issues on the regional agenda were also considered.
