WNAM REPORT: Andijan hosted a training workshop on “Electoral legislation: the essence and significance of laws related to the activities of political parties”.
The Deputy Chairman of the Political Council of the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” Abdukamol Rakhmonov, Chairman of the Regional Council of the party Madaminjon Madazimov addressed the event, who noted that in recent years the electoral legislation has been dynamically improved, while the participation of political parties in the election process has been intensified.
This year’s elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local Councils will be held based on a completely new socio-political environment defined by the Constitution – a mixed, that is, a majority-proportional electoral system. This requires the special involvement of political party leaders and activists.
The workshop, which included heads, responsible employees, and activists of the party’s regional, district, and city councils, provided detailed information about the electoral process innovations and the essence and significance of the majority and proportional systems.
The participants expressed suggestions, opinions, and comments on the effective organization of reporting and the electoral process and received detailed answers from experts and officials to all their questions.
The event helped enrich the knowledge and skills of party representatives regarding the electoral process.
