WNAM REPORT: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke on the phone with taekwondo athlete Ulugbek Rashitov and boxer Hasanboy Dusmatov, who won gold medals at the Olympic Games in Paris, defeating all opponents in their weight categories and became two-time Olympic champions.
The Head of state warmly congratulated the athletes and noted with great satisfaction that our team’s winning two Olympic gold medals in one day was a historic event for Uzbek sports. The President emphasized that our guys’ bold and confident performances, their high skill and courage, became an example of true heroism, showed what the youth of New Uzbekistan is capable of, gave great strength and a sense of pride to our people, and expressed gratitude to their coaches, parents, and relatives.Ulugbek Rashitov and Hasanboy Dusmatov sincerely thanked the Head of state for special attention and high trust and for all the conditions created for the athletes. They stated that they dedicated their victories to New Uzbekistan.
