WNAM MONITORING: This spring, sowing was carried out on an area of 431 hectares in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Fuad Najafli said at a conference titled “COP29 – Impact of Climate Change on Components of the Environment” in Nakhchivan.
According to him, a greening program covering 550 hectares of the autonomous republic’s territory has been developed this year.
“Restoration of forest areas, protection and increase of green spaces will make an important contribution to minimizing the impact of climate change on environmental components in the autonomous republic. It is also envisaged to create a centralized waste landfill and a solid waste processing plant, strengthening the material and technical base in this area, which will be an important step in reducing emissions in the waste sector in the future,” Najafli said.
