WNAM MONITORING: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the University of Public Security.

A multi-level military education system has been created in Uzbekistan, uniting several education institutions that train command and technical personnel. The University of Public Security is one of them.

This institution, reorganized based on the resolution of the Head of state of April 15, 2021, “On measures to improve the system of training professional personnel in public security,” is considered the highest military education and research institution that purposefully trains qualified personnel. The main objective of the education institution is to train qualified specialists capable of effectively organizing public security through in-depth training and improving combat and physical training.

For this purpose, modern education is provided in the relevant areas: for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard, in public order protection, road safety, and the passport system, and for the Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies in military diplomacy, jurisprudence, economics, engineering, educational and psychological, and command and tactical activities.

Admission of students to the university began in the 2021/2022 academic year for training in 15 bachelor’s and 8 master’s degree areas. Today, more than a thousand cadets are studying for a bachelor’s degree, and the same number of young people are studying in special areas, in the correspondence department, and the master’s degree. Classes are taught by 209 teachers, professors, and doctors of science.

One of the university’s features is that in addition to cadets, students in the areas of jurisprudence, economics, and psychology are also studying here on a general civilian basis. Graduates of the university effectively serve in the units of the National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ensure public safety and protect public order. Specialists are also trained for state and economic management bodies that have their security structure.

The university’s academic buildings have been overhauled in recent years, and all necessary conditions have been created. A sports complex and an educational and methodological situation center have been built. Six dormitories, each with 300 beds, have received a modern look.

The Head of state got acquainted with these conditions.

The spacious and bright classrooms are equipped with modern technology. The information and resource center has more than 90,000 books and teaching aids and over 10,000 electronic publications. It is connected to the databases of the National Library named after Alisher Navoi and the unified electronic library information system of higher education institutions.

The university’s scientific potential is growing. If it was only 10 percent in the year of its formation, it has grown to 75 percent at present. The university staff has prepared and published more than 200 teaching aids and 120 textbooks on various subjects. Particular attention is paid to enhancing international cooperation.

In a conversation with officers and students, the President noted the importance of the widespread introduction of dual education and of adapting the curriculum to modern challenges and threats.

The university’s new sports complex was also inspected.

The two-story complex has a swimming pool, a gym, a CrossFit room, and a boxing and all-around. In the large gym, along with gymnastics, mini-football, handball, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis, high-altitude training and evacuation classes can be conducted.

The cadets also achieve great success in sports. To date, they have won 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals at world championships and many victories at continental and national competitions. Several students have received state scholarships, and military personnel have received the “Mard Uglon” award.

The spirituality and education center has an assembly hall for 500 people, a separate room for military orchestra classes, a museum of patriotism, and a psychological center. The Head of state watched the cadets’ creative performances.
