Badung( WNAM MONITORING): Minister of National Development Planning, Soeharso Monoarfa, on Monday stressed the importance of cross-sector stakeholders working hand in hand to help the world navigate common pressing challenges.
Speaking at the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) 2024 in Badung district, Bali, on Monday, Monoarfa underlined the need to take multi-stakeholder partnerships to an entirely new level to narrow development gaps among countries.
While noting that only 15 percent of the SDGs are currently on track, the minister expressed the hope that solidified synergy among stakeholders would help the international community accelerate the achievement of all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
With the grand theme of “Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships: Towards a Transformative Change,” the HLF MSP is being held alongside the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum from September 1–3, 2024.
The flagship events — the Joint Leaders’ Session and High-Level Plenary Session — took place on the second day, drawing participation from international leaders, including President Joko Widodo.
In addition to the main sessions, Indonesia is also planning to organize 12 parallel events and 17 events during the forums.
Three issues will be the primary focus of discussions at the HLF MSP: multi-stakeholder partnerships for strengthened cooperation, sustainable economy for better welfare and environmental preservation, and innovative payment schemes for well-running development initiatives.
By inviting representatives of stakeholders from different countries, Indonesia is aiming to play a critical role in driving transformative change for more inclusive and sustainable global development through the forum.
