WNAM REPORT: The Tenth International Scientific and Practical Conference of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Second Conference of the Commonwealth of Independent States on Combating Terrorism and Extremism will be held in Tashkent on September 4-5, 2024.
These events are expected to involve delegations of competent authorities of the SCO and CIS member states, working structures of the CIS bodies, international organizations, and education and scientific-analytical organizations engaged in studying the problems of combating terrorism and extremism.
Representatives of the UN, the CIS ATC, Interpol, EAG, CICA, and others will also attend the conference.
The conference’s primary goal is to exchange best practices in combating terrorism and extremism, develop measures to improve international cooperation in this area and form a shared understanding and approaches of the participants to new challenges and threats to security.
In addition, under the coordinating role of the CIS ATC, the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan will conduct a joint anti-terrorist exercise of the competent authorities of the Commonwealth countries, “East Antiterror 2024”.
The purpose of the exercise is to improve the activities of the competent authorities of the CIS member states in conducting joint anti-terrorist measures to identify and suppress terrorist attacks at critical infrastructure facilities and in places of mass gatherings.
