To lose on one’s home ground to a lesser cricket team is quite disappointing. The Bangladeshi cricket team beat Pakistan cricket team all ends up on its short visit to Pakistan, lately. It is, however worth mentioning that like Afghanistan Bangladesh too has, in a very short time, made its mark in the cricket world. Gone are the days when only the Kangaroos or the West Indians or England ruled the roost in the cricket world. The cricket scene has undergone a tremendous change over the years.
With the advent of ODIs followed by introduction of Twenty 20s the entire complexion of this game has changed. This change has, however, been not without many faults. Match fixing, ball tampering etc. etc. have also given rise to corruption in this game which once prided itself on being billed as the gentlemen’s game.
One remembers when the idea of introduction of shorter version of this game was first mooted, there were many veteran cricketers who had expressed the fear that the change will commercialize the game and open floodgates of corruption. Time has proved them right.
