WNAM REPORT: A delegation led by a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Party Secretary of Tianjin, Chen Min’er, visited Samarkand.
Samarkand region’s Hokim E.Turdimov welcomed the guests.
The parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation between Samarkand and Tianjin in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Samarkand region’s Hokim informed about the economic potential of the region, opportunities and benefits created for foreign investors. The major projects implemented in cooperation with Chinese companies, the activities of joint ventures and plans for the future were considered.
The parties made proposals for the implementation of joint projects in electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and other areas of cooperation, strengthening ties between entrepreneurs of the two regions. The issue of creating modern industrial parks in Samarkand and Tianjin was also discussed.
The parties agreed to start practical work on the issues raised at the meeting and organize a joint business forum and business people’s meetings.
The Chinese delegation became familiar with the activities of the region’s manufacturing enterprises. A trip to the city’s historical and cultural monuments was organized.
