WNAM REPORT: The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Aziz Kudratov held talks with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov during the visit of the Russian delegation to Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of accelerating the development of trade-economic ties and expanding the scale of investment and interregional cooperation.In the first half of the year, trade turnover with Russia increased by 29 percent compared to the same period last year, mainly due to exports. Currently, there are more than 3,000 enterprises with the participation of Russian capital in Uzbekistan. By the end of 2023, the volume of cargo transportation by road and rail increased by an average of 35 percent, and the quantity and quality of air transportation significantly improved.
Considering the implementation of investment agreements and projects reached during high-level visits, the implementation of existing contracts was discussed.
Special attention was paid to specific measures to open an All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade branch in Tashkent and launch an Expert Center for Strategic Initiatives. The practical aspects of implementing these projects were discussed in detail.
After that, the ministers, accompanied by Rector Tulkin Teshaboyev, visited the university and became familiar with the conditions created for implementing the announced initiatives.
