WNAM REPORT: The relevant ministries of Uzbekistan and Russia have developed a roadmap to bring the volume of mutual trade turnover to $30 billion by 2030. The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov, separately focused on this topic during an interview with local journalists.
The Minister also noted that Russia is Uzbekistan’s second-important trading partner and noted the constant growth of mutual turnover of goods and services. In the first half of this year, this figure increased by 9 percent compared to the same period last year.
“The presidents of our countries have set a big goal for us – to bring the volume of trade turnover to $30 billion by 2030”, Mr. Reshetnikov said. Of course, this critical task requires hard work. Together with our colleagues, namely the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, we have developed a roadmap defining ways to achieve this result”.
As it became known, experts from both countries analyzed the types of products and studied which goods the two countries’ economies were interested in.
By the end of May this year, it was announced that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with his counterpart Vladimir Putin, agreed to increase trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan to $30 billion.
