WNAM REPORT: The opening ceremony of the World Asyk Atu Championship was held in the Kazakh capital of Astana, as per sources.
Tournament organizers have indicated the event represents a significant opportunity to showcase the Kazakh national traditions and culture globally.
Today is a historic day because the first World Asyk Atu Championship was held in Astana. Asyk atu is a traditional game of the Kazakh people. The game fosters agility, marksmanship, and vigilance. In conclusion, this game brings enormous benefits,” Azamat Manapov, Executive Director of the Asyk Atu Federation, said.
The World Asyk Atu Championship brought together the best athletes from 15 countries. The winners will be awarded cups and monetary certificates amounting to a total of 15 million tenge.
Athletes from Kazakhstan, the USA, Georgia, Hungary, the Russian Federation, Romania, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Spain, the Czech Republic, India, and Uzbekistan participated in the competition.
