ISLAMABAD( WNAM REPORT): The Rawalpindi Regional Campus of Allama Iqbal Open University held a grand Naat competition at Government Graduate College for Boys, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. Students from schools, colleges, and universities participated. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the Naat competition. Students presented beautiful Naat performances, illuminating the gathering.
Dr. Malik Touqir Ahmed Khan, Director General Regional Services was the chief guest. The event was organized under the supervision of Nasreen Akhtar Mirza, Director of the Rawalpindi Region. In his address, Dr. Touqir emphasized the importance of organizing various competitions, stating that they not only develop students’ skills but also enhance their mental training. He further noted that the essence of the celebration of Eid Milad un-Nabi is to embody the character and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in our lives, proving ourselves as true lovers of the Messenger.
Nasreen Akhtar Mirza expressed pride in organizing the Naat competition annually during this blessed month. She mentioned that this year also marks the university’s golden jubilee, making the event part of the ongoing celebrations. She thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, for his support in organizing the event, which contributed to its success.
Other speakers highlighted the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), stating that the religion he brought to us is a complete code of life and a living representation of Islam. They urged everyone to live their lives according to the Prophet’s teachings for success in both this world and the hereafter. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Kazim Ali Shah, Director of Student Affairs, Prof.Dr. Athar Qaseem, Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Madani, and other literary figures, heads of educational institutions, as well as students and teachers from local colleges and universities. All participants in the Naat competition were presented with a gift of the Holy Quran.
