“Fly Jinnah confirms that flight 9P846 from Karachi to Lahore on September 23, 2024, experienced a smoke alarm indication in the cargo compartment upon landing in Lahore. In accordance with standard safety protocols, the flight crew followed the standard procedures, notified the airport, and the aircraft with all crew and passengers onboard landed safely in Lahore.

According to Spokesperson Pakistan Airports Authority A ‘May Day’ distress signal was issued by the captain of a private airline flight traveling from Karachi to Lahore. The captain reported smoke in the cargo area at 7:15 PM while the aircraft was descending for landing. Fly Jinnah flight FL 846 successfully landed at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIAP) at 7:23 PM.
In accordance with standard operating procedures, the Airport Authority’s Fire Department was on-site to manage any potential emergencies. After landing, all passengers and crew were safely evacuated using the emergency chute system. The fire department completed their inspection of the cargo compartment and declared the aircraft clear at 7:57 PM. Senior officials have initiated an investigation into the incident.
