WNAM REPORT: By the end of this year, Turkiye will increase its target number of tourist visitors to 61 million people. In the first nine months of the year, the country earned $46.9 billion from tourism. Compared to the pandemic period, specifically the same period in 2019, the number of arrivals increased by 18.3 percent, and compared to last year, by 8.7 percent, As per reports.
According to the minister, in the third quarter of this year, Turkiye received $23.2 billion in tourism revenue, marking the highest quarterly figure in this sector.
Interestingly, the top three countries of origin for tourists visiting Turkiye this year include Russia (5.5 million), Germany (5.2 million), and the United Kingdom (3.7 million). This influx reflects not only Turkish appeal as a travel destination but also its strategic initiatives to enhance tourism infrastructure and promote diverse attractions, from historical sites to vibrant coastal resorts.
Moreover, Turkish unique blend of cultures, rich history, and stunning landscapes continues to draw visitors. The government is also investing in promotional campaigns to showcase lesser-known regions, encouraging travelers to explore beyond the usual hotspots. With ongoing efforts to enhance visitor experiences and safety, Turkiye aims to solidify its position as a leading global tourism destination.
