WNAM REPORT: The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo organized online negotiations between representatives of the Veolia company in Uzbekistan, Uzsuvtaminot JSC, the hokimiyats of the city of Samarkand, Samarkand region, heads and responsible employees of ministries and agencies, and an Egyptian businessman, Strategy Manager of the Bell Group, Haitham Hussein.
The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects to modernize water supply, sewerage, and heating systems in the districts and cities of Samarkand region and water system management. The Egyptian side expressed its readiness to implement promising projects in water management in all districts of the region, to create a department to improve the system’s efficiency and rational use of water resources, and to attract the necessary investments.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the development by the Bell Group and Veolia of a concept for projects that will be implemented in Samarkand region soon, as well as a draft of the corresponding Memorandum of Cooperation.
