ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s successful visit to Saudi Arabia and the signing of 34 agreements worth $2.8 billion is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s confidence in Pakistan’s economy. Mian Akram Farid, former President of the ICCI and a prominent industrialist, has congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister and deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal, Privatization Minister Aleem Khan, and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal on this historic achievement.
Farid stated that the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the 8th Future Investment Initiative is a positive development for Pakistan’s economic outlook. Under the visionary leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia has emerged as a leading global economy. The special bond between the two countries has encouraged Saudi investors to explore the vast opportunities in Pakistan.
Farid further added that the recent wave of Saudi investment in Pakistan is a result of the government’s proactive efforts, particularly the ECO Conference where Federal Minister for Privatization Aleem Khan and Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal actively engaged with Saudi investors.
Federal Minister for Privatization Aleem Khan hosted a special event for a Saudi investors’ delegation led by Saudi Minister of Investment, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al-Falih, and briefed them on investment opportunities, especially in the real estate sector. He emphasized that Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has always supported Pakistan’s development. The recent billions of dollars of Saudi investment is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s desire to see a prosperous Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal also briefed Pakistani industrialists on various investment opportunities. Mian Akram Farid assured full cooperation from the industrial community in all government initiatives. The event was attended by former ICCI presidents, including Khalid Iqbal Malik (Chairman FG), Ijaz Abbasi, Zubair Malik, Sheikh Basir Dawud, Abdul Rauf Alam, Shakil Munir, members of the Founder Group Chaudhry Abdul Rauf, Sardar Tahir, Muhammad Naveed, Chaudhry Masood, Malik Najib, and a large number of business community members were present.”
