WNAM REPORT: Over 2,000 Indonesian and Australian soldiers joined the Keris Woomera joint military exercise on the Indonesian island of Java on November 13.
This exercise came on the heels of the recent signing of a landmark defence agreement between the two nations aimed at strengthening regional security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific.
The four-day drill includes coordinated activities across air, land, sea, and cyber domains. Australian Minister for Defence Richard Marles described it as Australia’s largest exercise outside its territory this year.
Troops conducted an amphibious landing on a beach in East Java, deploying tanks, warships, fighter jets, amphibious vessels, and attack helicopters in a live-fire drill.
