Khawaja Asif was brow beaten by some unruly persons in London the other day ostensibly by some highly charged political workers. This incident came on the heels of similar incident happening to the former CJP in England’s capital city a couple of days back.
Both these episodes are condemnable to say the least. It is unfortunate that use of fisticuffs has got the better of argument in our political culture lately. Where are we heading for? This is certainly not the political culture which Iqbal and Jinnah had aspired for this country.
Whosoever, has promoted this brand of politics in this country is certainly not friend of it. Voltaire had once said that it is not necessary that I should agree with whatever you say but I will defend unto death your right to say it.
Our politicians should have promoted among their workers the need of tolerance and treating the leaders of other political parties with respect instead of brow beating them and insulting them in public and that too on foreign land.
