WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan plans to introduce press attaché positions in several of its diplomatic missions abroad.
According to official media of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov articulated this proposal during a recent online government meeting on Friday.
As mentioned by the Deputy Prime Minister, this decision aims to enhance the country’s information activities on the international stage.
In particular, the plan expects to establish direct cooperation with the UN Department of Global Communications, which has gained increasing relevance amid Turkmenistan’s growing international collaboration.
Significant changes also await the scientific and diplomatic sphere. The journal Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan will have the opportunity to send correspondents abroad and establish partnership agreements with leading international publications in related fields.
An innovative step will be the creation of a special zone for Digital Integration. This project aims to harness the potential of young Turkmen IT specialists to develop digital technologies in international communications.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhammedov endorsed these initiatives, noting their alignment with the country’s neutral status and emphasizing the need to integrate modern information technologies into foreign policy efforts.
The government meeting also addressed key tasks for the country’s socio-economic development, reviewed several project documents, and discussed various other issues.
