Now that the European union Safety Commission has given a clean bill of health to our national carrier. If the PIA is privatized, it is likely to fetch an handsome bid. It is going to resume direct flights within ten days to many European countries and US to boot also.
Time was when it was included in the six best airlines of the world. It had touched its zenith when it was headed by persons like retired Air Marshal Asghar Khan and Nur Khan. It touched its nadir when it was marred by political interference in its affairs.
Let us hope, it will regain its lost prestige and those at its helm of affairs, taking lessons from the past, won’t repeat the follies that had resulted in its downfall in the aviation industry of the world.
