WNAM MONITORING: An exhibition devoted to the cultural-historical heritage of Uzbekistan and China has opened at Samarkand State Museum-Reserve.
The exhibition’s opening was attended by senior officials of Samarkand regional and city hokimiyats, museologists and historians, and representatives of museums of the two countries.
Three years ago, Samarkand and the National Silk Museum of China signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. Various exhibitions on the traces of the Silk Road are also being organized to protect cultural heritage and strengthen cultural ties.
As Deputy Director of the China National Silk Museum Zhou Yang noted, Hangzhou and Samarkand are among the cradles of Chinese silk culture and essential centers on the Silk Road. In this regard, the next exhibition in Samarkand State Museum-Reserve presents rare exhibits and samples of the Tang dynasty’s sericulture art and collections from the China National Silk Museum.
The exhibition is expected to last one year.
