WNAM REPORT: A roundtable discussion dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan.
Compatriots living in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and neighboring regions attended the event. Citizens of Uzbekistan from Karachi and Lahore joined the event via videoconferencing.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan. Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev welcomed the guests and congratulated them on the Constitution Day of Uzbekistan. In his speech, the head of the diplomatic mission focused on the Constitution’s importance in the life of the state and society, its role in further development, and its role in ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens. He spoke about supplementing the Basic Law with new socially oriented norms and principles.
“The reforms and directions of economic and social development implemented in our country are aimed at improving the well-being of our people based on the principles of our Constitution. In particular, the measures taken to improve the rights of women and their place in society confirm that the principles of the Constitution are being implemented”, the Ambassador said.
At the event, the amendments introduced to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan were presented.
