ISLAMABAD( WNAM REPORT): On the occasion of World Human Rights Day, the President of D. Watson Lions club, Ahsan Zafar Bakhatawari, donated 20 wheelchairs to Alkhidmat Foundation for persons with disabilities. A dignified ceremony was held in Islamabad, attended by former ICCI President Zafar Bakhatawari, ICCI Executive Member Mohsin Khalid, Ruheel Anwar Butt, former ICCI Executive Member Imtiaz Abbasi, Nisar Mirza, President of Alkhidmat Foundation Islamabad Hamid Athar Malik, General Secretary Altaf Shabbir, Senior Manager Azhar Ali Shah, and others.
Speaking at the event, Ahsan Zafar Bakhatawari said that persons with disabilities are an integral part of society, and addressing their needs is a collective responsibility. “Providing facilities to persons with disabilities and integrating them into mainstream society is the foundation of human rights. I am pleased to see organizations like Alkhidmat Foundation working tirelessly for this cause, and I commend their efforts,” he said.
He also urged traders and philanthropists to actively participate in such welfare initiatives.
The President of Alkhidmat Foundation Islamabad praised Ahsan Zafar Bakhatawari’s spirit of generosity, stating that the provision of wheelchairs would bring ease and joy to individuals facing mobility challenges. The Foundation’s General Secretary added that this initiative is a significant step toward restoring the dignity of persons with disabilities and enabling them to lead more independent lives.
The persons with disabilities and their families present at the ceremony appreciated the contributions of Ahsan Bakhatawari and Alkhidmat Foundation. They expressed hope that this example would inspire others to engage in charitable acts.
