WNAM MONITORING: The city of Arkadag, the first smart and sustainable city in Turkmenistan, received the prestigious Quality Choice Prize 2024 from the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) on Monday in Vienna, with the event organized annually by the ESQR to recognize achievements in quality management across various sectors, including urban planning, healthcare, and energy efficiency, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria.
Arkadag city earned the award for its high standards in urban planning and the implementation of advanced technologies combined with eco-friendly practices. This award highlights the city’s success as a model of sustainable urbanization.
The Turkmen delegation at the ceremony was led by the Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of Arkadag, Deryageldi Orazov. The event included a morning conference where participants presented their initiatives and discussed opportunities for international cooperation.
During the ceremony, Orazov stated: “This award recognizes not only the innovative concept of Arkadag but also the efforts of the National Leader, esteemed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Turkmenistan, esteemed Serdar Berdimuhamedov. We take pride in Arkadag becoming a global example of sustainability and technological progress.”
Arkadag is designed with the latest solutions in mind, including energy-efficient buildings, smart transportation systems, and eco-friendly infrastructure. The developing medical cluster aims to enhance the city’s economic potential and create new jobs while strictly adhering to principles of sustainable development.
