WNAM REPORT: A delegation of analytical centers of Uzbekistan took part in a roundtable discussion in Paris on “Current issues of integration processes in Central Asia and expanding dialogue between Uzbekistan and the European Union”. Several meetings with European partners were held during the visit.

The event was organized jointly with the Development Strategy Center, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in France, and the Institute for Prospective and Security in Europe.

Representatives of leading analytical centers of Uzbekistan and France, diplomats, politicians and about 40 international experts from various European countries participated in the event.

The heads and leading analysts of the Development Strategy Center, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the International Institute for Central Asia, the Center for Foreign Policy Research and International Initiatives also addressed the international event.

Information was presented on the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and France and cooperation in the Uzbekistan – European Union format. The issues related to further developing mutually beneficial relations in various spheres were considered.

The issues of development of regional cooperation and integration in Central Asia were also touched upon, particularly prospects for the institutionalization of regional cooperation and issues of multilateral cooperation in the format of “Central Asia Plus”.

In turn, the French side expressed great interest in the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and emphasized the importance of intensifying cooperation with Uzbekistan for the European Union and member states.

Following the event, representatives of political and economic circles of France and other European countries expressed interest in further developing cooperation with Uzbekistan’s leading analytical centers and educational institutions.
