(WNAM): Uzbekistan Airways JSC welcomed the next Airbus A320neo for commercial operation. At the Airbus factory airfield in Toulouse (France), the aircraft with registration number UK32026 passed all the necessary technical and flight tests.
Aircraft is already the seventh in the airline’s fleet. It is designed to carry 186 passengers and has a mono-class layout. The airliner was purchased under a long-term lease from BOC Aviation Limited and so far, has a simplified fuselage color – completely white with the company logo on the tail and engines and the inscription Uzbekistan Airways. At the Tashkent airport, in accordance with aviation traditions, the plane was solemnly greeted with a water arch.
“The airline is finishing 2023 with good results. Compared to last year, the number of passengers transported has increased, new routes to Munich, Ankara, Phuket, and Khabarovsk have been opened. On New Year‘s Eve we expect the arrival of another Airbus A320neo as part of a year-long plan to acquire five aircraft from the French manufacturer. This will satisfy the population’s demand for air transportation and expand our route network,” Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways JSC, said. The aircraft was delivered by experienced Uzbekistan Airways pilot-instructor Marat Yakupov and check-captain Ruslan Ziyadinov. Flight time on the Toulouse-Tashkent route was 6 hours 40 minutes.
