WNAM REPORT: A dialogue was held with the participation of young journalists from Azerbaijan. The event was attended by Acting Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan Kholmurod Salimov, famous journalist and honored cultural figure of Uzbekistan Khurshid Dustmuhammad, member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper “Adabiyot Ziyasi” Mahmud Toir, as well as Chairman of the Council of Young Journalists Shukhrat Oripov.
Khurshid Dustmuhammad emphasized the importance of young journalists’ active use of digital technologies to create high-quality content and combat disinformation. Shukhrat Oripov proposed an initiative to develop joint projects to develop media literacy and raise professional standards among journalists in the two countries.The participants expressed a desire to cooperate and continue the dialogue, emphasizing that only through joint efforts can we cope with the challenges of modern journalism in the era of widespread development and popularization of information technology. The discussion also touched upon current issues of combating fake news and disinformation, especially regarding information attacks.At the event, projects and initiatives planned for 2025 with the participation of media structures of the two countries to support young journalists were discussed. Participants noted that such dialogues serve not only as a lesson in skill, but also as an essential platform for exchanging experiences and ideas.
Following the event, confidence was expressed that such interaction formats would help strengthen ties between journalists of the two countries and support the development of young people’s professional skills in the media field.
