WNAM MONITORING: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov became the honored guest at the New Year performance near the country’s Main New Year Tree, located in the center of the square by the Älem cultural and entertainment center in Ashgabat. This place traditionally serves as the epicenter of New Year’s celebrations, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media on Sunday.
Children from all corners of the country attended the celebration—outstanding students, winners of olympiads, sports competitions, and creative contests. The young guests congratulated the head of state, while Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk delivered festive wishes on behalf of the younger generation.
The event began with musical performances prepared by the children and reached its peak with a round dance around the tree. President Berdimuhamedov joined this tradition, symbolizing friendship and unity. In the end, participants received gifts, and the head of state took a commemorative photo with the children.
After the ceremony, Serdar Berdimuhamedov went to the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the festive marathon continued. In the large hall, children, parents, and representatives of the diplomatic corps gathered.
Performers from the stage, theaters, and circus, as well as folk groups and young talents, entertained the audience. The program included works by Turkmen and foreign authors, classical melodies, and national dances.
The celebration concluded with a festive cake and greetings from the President of Turkmenistan, who wished all participants a happy New Year and the fulfillment of their wishes.
