WNAM REPORT: China’s space program has made significant scientific achievements in the past two years, the China Manned Space Administration said in a recent report. The document shows the country’s massive progress in space exploration, covering 34 key achievements in scientific research and application, as well as advances in scientific communication and culture ,as per reports.
The orbital activity figures are particularly impressive: by December of this year, 181 scientific studies had been carried out. About two tons of scientific materials were delivered to the space station, and almost 100 different experimental samples were returned to Earth.
Chinese scientists have set several world records, including the creation of the first space-based rice germplasm resource and a unique achievement in the field of stem cells – successfully transforming human embryonic stem cells into specialized bone marrow cells capable of producing all types of blood cells.
China’s long-term plans outline four priority areas for space research, covering 32 scientific topics. These include: the study of life in space and the impact of the space environment on the human body, microgravity research, space astronomy and Earth sciences, as well as the development of space technologies and their practical application. According to forecasts, China plans to carry out more than 1,000 scientific projects in the space sector in the next 10-15 years.
