Mahmood Khan Achakzai has a point there when he says China can play an effective role in making Afghanistan and Pakistan hit it off. Afghanistan badly needs economic aid of Beijing to put back its economy on the rails therefore, it would lend its ear to China on this issue. China also requires peace and tranquility in this region for timely completion of CPEC in which it had made heavy investment.
Both China and Afghanistan need each other today. Kabul would certainly give its ear to Beijing if the latter asks it forcefully to deal with iron hand those who are indulging in acts of terrorism inside Pakistan.
On the contrary Washington wants turmoil in this region because it wants to torpedo CPEC at all costs.
