WNAM REPORT: The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has determined the exact timeframe for the implementation of higher education reform in the country. As representatives of the department told , large-scale changes in the system of higher education will begin on September 1, 2026.
By autumn 2026, the ministry will have completed all necessary preparatory work, including the development and approval of a full package of regulatory and legal documentation for the implementation of the reform. At the same time, the department guarantees that students admitted to programs of the current format will be able to complete their studies in their chosen areas without any changes.
According to the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, 2025 will be a key period of preparation for the introduction of the new educational model. During this time, active work will be carried out to ensure a smooth transition of universities to updated educational standards.
