Padang, W Sumatra ( WNAM MONITORING): Manpower Minister Yassierli emphasized that the first half of 2025 is crucial for determining Indonesia’s success in realizing its Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, which aims to transform the nation into an advanced country.

Yassierli made this statement during a national dialogue titled “Strengthening Manpower Aspects in Supporting National Economic Growth” at Andalas University held here on Saturday.

He emphasized that 2025 is a crucial year for assessing the likelihood of reaching the national goals set for 2045.

He identified two primary factors that underscore the significance of Indonesia’s progress in 2025 in determining the success of Golden Indonesia 2045: constraints on the state budget (APBN) and the challenging state of the global economy.

“We are facing economic contraction and international geopolitical uncertainties,” the minister explained.

If Indonesia successfully navigates these challenges in 2025 by effectively executing President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic agendas, Yassierli projected that economic growth could reach eight percent in 2026 and 2027 and potentially continue in subsequent years.

During the national dialogue, Yassierli outlined some of the president’s economic sector targets, one of which is achieving food self-sufficiency, particularly in staples such as rice, corn, cassava, soybeans, and sugarcane.

Regarding energy security, he noted that the president aims for Indonesia to become a leader in green energy by developing biodiesel and bio-aviation fuel from palm oil, as well as tapping into geothermal energy potential.

The government also plans to bolster the downstreaming and industrialization sectors, particularly focusing on nickel and increasing the processing of bauxite, copper, tin, agricultural products, and maritime goods.

Finally, in the tourism sector, Indonesia aims to attract between 14.6 million and 16 million foreign tourists while expecting around 1.08 billion domestic tourist movements.
