It is not understandable as to why some political quarters in this country have been pinning so much hopes that when Trump takes over as new American president a sea change will occur in the political climate of Pakistan?
The ground realities however don’t, support this notion. First the strong Zionist lobby still holds sway over the White House, second, renaissance of Moscow and increase in the political influence of China in the world are the major sources of concern of the State Department of the US which will give many sleepless nights to the new tenant of the White House.
Trump would definitely try to create misgivings in the heart of those who move in the corridors of power in the Kremlin and Beijing against Pakistan in order to wean them away from supporting Pakistan. It would be in the interest of this country to keep itself on the right side of both Russia and China as cordial relations with them will keep us out of the harm’s way. There is no indication, whatever that there is a rift between Trump and the American establishment which too, by and large, is pro Tel Aviv.
Many political observers, however, don’t understand that being themselves brutally physically and mentally tortured and made a victim of aggression by Hitler once why are Jews committing same type of excesses on the Palestinians which they had undergone of the hands of Nazis once? Isn’t it a fact that it was the Christians who had tormented them in the past and on the contrary Muslims had helped them on many occasions. Have they forgotten history that they are committing acts of violence against their benefactors?
