Even a cursory glance at the recent high level administrative appointments made by Trump to run the show as President of the US reveals what his bent of mind is: he is pro-India. It is therefore wrong on the part of some political observers that he will be pro-Pakistan. He would expect rulers of this country to dance to his tune and in case they won’t he will make it difficult for them to remain in the saddle. He would like them to give a wide berth to both Beijing and Moscow.
It is quite natural for Trump to give New Delhi preference over Islamabad as there is no love lost between India and China and he would like to cash friendship with India by using it as a stick to beat China.
