WNAM REPORT: Uzbekistan has proposed to prepare a draft agreement on the transition to electronic document management and mutual recognition of electronic documents in cargo transportation between the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, at the 10th Meeting of the Heads of Customs Administrations of the OTS Member States. He also noted that on November 5, 2024, Uzbekistan became an official participant in the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA).
“The agreement aims at digitalizing documents and ensuring their interstate recognition”, says A. Mavlonov. “Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have also joined the Framework Agreement. To further deepen cooperation, we propose to consider concluding a draft agreement between all member states. If this idea is approved and included in the meeting minutes, we will prepare and submit a draft document for consideration. Uzbekistan is ready for constant dialogue and active actions and supports initiatives aimed at successful cooperation”.
