WNAM MONITORING: The 8th meeting of the joint Azerbaijan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) began on Thursday in Islamabad, discussing the development of cooperation in key sectors.
The main IGC meeting is scheduled for January 24, 2025.
The meeting will discuss strengthening cooperation in defense, trade, and other strategic areas.
On Thursday, representatives of Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed a wide range of issues concerning cooperation in energy, transport, and trade.
Specifically, they talked about interaction in defense industry, ICT and digital governance, banking, agriculture, food security, tourism, sports, youth, culture, science and education, healthcare, climate change, public services, and social innovation.
The IGC’s co-chair from the Azerbaijani side is Minister of Defense Industry Vugar Mustafayev.
The seventh IGC meeting was held in December 2021 in Baku.
